Networking tips

There is no one best way to network. It evolves around your needs. Three things I have learned are:
1) Consistency helps and time matters
2) Be open to those who want to connect with you.
3) Not everyone may vibe with you
Networking is an exchange of energies, ideas, and opportunities. Self-awareness of your needs and energy helps you build your network effortlessly.

“Networking is not about just connecting people. It’s about connecting people with people, people with ideas, and people with opportunities.” – Michele Jennae

Witnessing kindness

Kindness is a rarity. You will see many people demonstrating courteousness, but rarely do you find people showing kindness. When you witness kindness, it moves you. It softens you, and perhaps your eyes turn moist. Merely being a witness to an act of kindness can be a learning moment in your life.

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” – Mark Twain

First Principles

What would you do if you had to challenge an expert’s opinion? It is discomforting to do so. One of the leaders I coached adopted questioning experts on a first-principles basis. His magic phrase is, “help me understand…” In speaking to technical experts, first principles have helped him clarify many of those assumptions that experts make and also seek creative solutions.

“First principles thinking is the act of boiling a process down to the fundamental parts that you know are true and building up from there.” – Elon Musk
